Matt Topham and Darren Turner are returning to the British GT championship for the 2022 season.

After winning on their debut together at Silverstone last year in their Newbridge Motorsport run Aston Martin Vantage, the pair continued to a promising fourth place in GT4 category at the seasons' end.

Topham believes the pressure will be on in 2022 as good results are now expected after such a promising first season.

“Racing in British GT had been a dream of mine and 2021 didn’t disappoint, I was surprised how well Darren and I worked as a team last year and the results we achieved, including winning on our debut. Now, with experience and results, the expectation and pressure ratchets up a few notches." said Topham.

“I believe we have the pace to beat the silver crews over a season but that relies on us maximising every weekend, sometimes banking solid points rather than worrying about podiums and wins. With a bit more consistency I have no doubt we can be overall contenders this year. That’s certainly the aim, anyway.”

Turner is also excited for the 2022 season, highlighting that last year's results were unexpected but incredibly positive.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Matt and Newbridge again for a full season in British GT, it was a nice surprise to win the Pro-Am Championship last year considering Matt’s experience but he had an incredible year and the team delivered a winning car. So now let’s see what we can do in 2022.” said Turner.

The season will be kicking off in April at Oulton Park for the first of the nine rounds which will form the 2022 Intelligent Money British GT championship.
