The 2021 Maximum Networks VW Racing Cup, incorporating the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy & TCR UK moves on to the Kent circuit of Brands Hatch for the series midseason triple-header event as the title chase hots up to match the scorching weather we were enjoying...

The series return to the Wiltshire circuit of Castle Combe added new twists and turns to the standings with the series gaining two more winners to make it four different winners out of the first four races.

Lewis Kent currently leads the standings after taking one win and three second places in the first four races and the Essex & Kent Motorsport driver arrives at his home race as one of the few drivers that have experience of the Indy circuit from previous years.

Max Hart lies in second place, twenty-three points behind his rival, looking to make up ground after what turned out to be a nightmare meeting at Castle Combe. Disqualification from race one and then a re-instated third place in race two means that the Maximum Motorsport Hyundai driver will be on maximum attack.

Bradley Kent took his first win in the series in race two at Castle Combe and is another driver who will be looking to go well on home ground in the second Essex & Kent Motorsport Hyundai.

Bruce Winfield has enjoyed a good season so far in the Area Motorsport Cupra TCR DSG where he lies fourth in the standings, four points ahead of the first NGTC car of Darron Lewis in the Team Hard Mercedes A-Class as the points close up further down the table.

Power Maxed Car Care Racing endured a tough meeting at the Wiltshire circuit where Dan Kirby had two DNFs whilst William Butler's best finish was sixth place in race two which leaves both drivers tied for sixth place in the standings and looking for better fortune at the Kent venue.

Darelle Wilson scored his first win in four seasons of competition in TCR UK, however, the Vauxhall Astra driver has stepped to one side to allow Alex Kite a chance for another outing, driving in the "Mean Green Machine" at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Toby Bearne is back in the second Team Hard Mercedes A-Class as he looks to settle in for the rest of the year whilst Daniel Wylie will be out to improve on his debut in the Team Hard BMW 1 Series in what is his second event of the year.

One driver who will be one to watch is Will Powell. The Maximum Motorsport with Motus One Hyundai pilot has endured rotten luck in the first four races of the year and has already made his intention clear that he's now out to settle some scores and go on all-out attack mode for the rest of the season.

Twelve TCR and TCT cars will compete alongside six entries in the VW Racing Cup on the same grid during all three races on Saturday and Sunday.

Just like Castle Combe, Qualifying and all races will be live-streamed on both Social Media and on the TCR UK and Volkswagen Racing Cup YouTube accounts.
