British driver Esmee Hawkey has been announced as the second driver for T3 Motorsport, piloting a Lamborghini Huracán for the 2021 DTM season.

The 23-year-old British driver is no stranger to the DTM, having driven in W Series in its inaugral season as part of the support series in the DTM calendar, she joins the T3 team alongside team mate Estaban Muth.

Having started her career in karting, she then moved into the Ginetta Junior championship. Her development then lead her to become a Porsche junior driver, racing in the GT Cup and then back onto the TOCA package in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, so already has plenty of experience of GT racing.

Hawkey is keen to get started despite only getting used to the T3 Lamborghini a few days ago while testing at Monza, and is well aware of the challenges that face her.

"With so little time before the first round, I know I am jumping in at the deep end. I know it is going to be a huge step up but it's one I am ready to take and make the most of," said Hawkey.

The first round of the championship takes place at Monza on the weekend of 18 - 20 June.
