Alpine F1 Executive Director Marcin Budkowski has left the team before the beginning of the 2022 season during a management restructure.

Alpine has undergone several changes within the structure of the management over the past year, with former boss Cyril Abiteboul exiting the team following 2020.

The latest result is the loss of former-Executive Director Marcin Budkowski, who oversaw much of the trackside operations for the French squad throughout the past year.

CEO Laurent Rossi will be ensuring the team's management temporarily following Budkowski's departure from the squad after four years of work at Alpine.

Rossi spoke about Budkowski leaving the team, saying: "I would like to thank Marcin Budkowski for his commitment and contribution to the team's results over the past four years.

"The team is fully focused on getting the car ready for the first race in Bahrain and deliver a step beyond in performance."

This news comes just after Otmar Szafnauer was confirmed to be leaving Alpine's rival Aston Martin F1 Team, following rumoured negotiations between Alpine and Szafnauer.

It seems that the rumours could become true after all, leading to a new partnership with Szafnauer heading up the team for their 2022 campaign and beyond.
